Marlee Matlin In the News!

I've morphed into Alice, the Maid. Academy Award-winning actress and "Dancing With the Stars" sensation Marlee Matlin is working on a memoir, scheduled to come out in 2009 and tentatively titled "I'll Scream Later. ""As a young girl, I imagined myself as Marcia Brady who just happened to be deaf, skating down the street saying hi to everyone I knew," said Matlin, 42, an Oscar winner in 1987 for "Children of a Lesser God. ".


"According to Simon Spotlight, the 42-year-old Matlin will confide about her "unresolved issues and battles with addiction and abuse, many of which she kept hidden from the public and her family. " She also will "delve into her loves and life in Hollywood," including such television shows as "Picket Fences," "The Practice" and "The West Wing. "Her previous books include a novel, "Deaf Child Crossing," and the young people's stories "Leading Ladies" and "Nobody's Perfect. Thirty-two years later, she is back with a whole new outlook on life.

Matlin is known for having been on Dancing With the Stars, a bunch of television shows and oh yeah, winning that Oscar back in 1987 for Children of a Lesser God. "But today, as a mom of four, I'm no longer Marcia. At 10 years old, Marlee performed in her first stage play, "The Wizard of Oz," at Center on Deafness in the north suburbs. Goodbye, Marcia, Marcia, Marcia.

Marlee Matlin made a strong impression with her unique dance skills. Matlin is 42 and has written other books, one being a novel called Deaf Child Crossing. "My life has certainly changed for the better since doing Dancing with the Stars," Matlin said. Marlee Matlin is writing a memoir whose title is I'll Scream Later, tentatively titled of course.

No More Marlee Matlin on Dancing With the Stars!

Well, I kinda saw this one coming. If you've been keeping up with the blog or watching the show you knew already that Marlee Matlin's performances on Dancing with the Stars were getting worse and last week Marlee Matlin was eliminated from Dancing With the Stars. Not sure if the dances were getting harder or if she was just getting tired of the hard work required that was made even more difficult by her deafness. Either way, her performance last Monday was pretty bad, the judges didn't like it at all, and apparently America didn't either. With a resounding Good Bye she was voted off and now no more Marlee Matlin on Dancing With the Stars.

The competition continues however with favorite Kristi Yamaguchi, pre-season surprise Shannon Elizabeth, and Marissa from Broadway. Kristi Yamaguchi (not Christy Yamaguchi by the way) is still the favorite to win and is doing stellar work. I think this week we'll see another guy get the boot and as much as the ladies like him, I predicting it will be Christian. We'll see.

How Much Longer Will We Have Marlee Matlin on Dancing With the Stars?

Well she survived another week...but barely. Were it not for the disappointing performance from Priscilla Presley on Dancing With the Stars I think it would have been Marlee Matlin under the red light last week. This week, she is definitely on the bubble!

In reality, I think this will be the last week we see marlee matlin on dancing with the stars. She's has worked really hard and done a great job but I think she's reaching the limit of how far she can go. Sorry Marlee!

Time for another week of Marlee Matlin on Dancing With the Stars

Now we're starting to get down to some real competition and we'll get to see how long we'll keep Marlee Matlin on Dancing With the Stars.

Have you noticed that everyone eliminated so far has been from the male side of the celebrity pool, except of course for Monica Seles. With the eliminations we've seen so far, I think the guys are down to a pretty competitive group now and we'll start seeing some of the ladies hittin the road this week.

Of the ladies it looks to me like Marissa should be the next female to leave Dancing With the Stars. She's trying really hard but not getting there. Then I think its a toss up between Priscilla Presley leaving Dancing With the Stars and tossing Marlee Matlin off Dancing With the Stars. As much as I hate to say it, I think that's what going to happen next.

Ok so watch Dancing With the Stars this week Monday and Tuesday night (or just Tuesday night if you want to know who gets tossed) and see if we can keep Marlee Matlin on Dancing With the Stars!

Marlee Matlin on Dancing With the Stars - Week 3

Well, I still have to hand it to her, to not be able to hear anything Marlee Matlin is doing GREAT on Dancing With the Stars. This week she did the Jive and had a few problems, mostly related to not hearing the music and not being able to see her partner I think. As much as I like her, she may be the next lady to leave the show. She's clearly not going to be able to beat out Kristi Yamaguchi or Shannon Elizabeth on Dancing with the Stars season 6.

Marlee Matlin is Still on Dancing With the Stars

Well I have to say I'm kind of surprised at just how well Marlee Matlin is doing on Dancing With the Stars. I don't think any of us thought she would do poorly, but her hearing has to be a contributing factor...right? Well not so far. It's time for week three and Marlee Matlin has done a fantastic job so far, clearly earning her right to continue in the competition. After a stellar performance last week, we're ready to see Marlee Matlin on Dancing With the Stars for week 2 to see if she can top last weeks performance. It's kinda toss up right now about who did better last week, Marlee Matlin on Dancing With the Stars or Priscilla Presley on Dancing With the Stars. I think they both did better than exptected. Marlee Matlin Brings Up the Rear onDancing With the Stars

Award winning actress Marlee Matlin brought up the rear by dancing last but she certaily wasn't the last in quality. I wanted to see how a deaf person can dance and she showed us in the intro video. Marlee Matlin and her partner worked on may visual queue and she said he was her music. I guess we'll see just how well Marlee Matlin does in season six of dancing with the stars on abc

Marlee Matlin on Dancing With the Stars Season 6 on ABC Tonight

Tonight is the night that Marlee Matlin and the other Stars take to the floor to dance it out and see who is the best dancer. Marlee Matlin is an award winning actress who is also deaf. she will have a professional partner and Marlee Matlin and her partner will compete against the other stars on season 6 of dancing with the stars, the abc series. Tune in tonight for the first night of a two night premier event for season 6 of dancing with the stars on abc staring among others marlee matlin.

The cast for Dancing With The Stars season 6 was announced Feb 18th and we've got all the info right here! The cast will be:

Marlee Matlin - Hot Oscar winning, deaf actress who has done more in Hollywood than most actors/actresses. AS with all our fine contestants, we won't have any nude photos of Marlee Matlin here nor will we have any nude pics, so don't ask!

Penn Jillette - half of Penn and Teller, the magicians (can't wait to see this!) (Along with other possible misspellings of his name: Penn Gillette, Penn Jilete, Penn Jilette, and Pen Jillete)

Marissa Jaret Winokur - from Hairspray, the Broadway Musical. It's hard enough to find pics of Marissa let alone nude pics of Marissa Jaret Winokur...so none here!

Adam Carolla - from radio and the Man Show. Please! ARe you kidding me! Certainly no nudies of this guy!

Kristy Yamaguchi - Olympic Gold Medalist, ice skater (early favorite?) At the risk of becoming redundant, no nude pictures of Kristi Yamaguchi!

Christian De La Fuente - Latin American actor (he is HOT! so they say...I wouldn't know.)

Monica Seles - Tennis star that was stabbed in the back (literally) by a fan (really? a fan?) Ah Monica Seles. Quite the tennis player and looker while she was playing but alas, no nude pics of Monica Seles either.

Mario - R&B singer, “Let Me Love You”? No, nothing? Ok.

Steve Guttenberg - If you don't know who he is...go rent Police Academy.

Jason Taylor - Former Miami Dolphin (continuing the football player tradition?) While there may be some of the ladies out there that would like to see nude photos of Jason Taylor, they won't see them here! Hey, we're tryin to run a clean outfit.

Shanon Elizabeth - Nadia from American Pie. BTW, before you ask, we have no nude pictures of shannon elizabeth! Again, no nude pics of shannon elizabeth!

Priscilla Presely - Elvis’s widow and tenacious guardian of all things Elvis. You know for Lisa Marie's sake! (You know I'm going to say it...don't you?) No nudes of Priscilla Presley (or Lisa Marie)!
